SUITABLE FOR BEGINNERS!

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a call to Lake Fever. This trip is suitable for first-time campers. Those with a moderate level of fitness encouraged to join, though not recommended for those with mobility issues or children under the age of 10.

PLEASE NOTE:

Hikes will require guests to walk for multiple hours, and may include a moderate to steep incline.

Camping Destinations: Algonquin Provincial Park, Killbear Provincial Park, Killarney Provincial Park.

DAY 1

Meet At Loblaws Parking Lot (Just south of Dundas West Subway Station) - 2280 Dundas Street West

8:00AM

DEPARTURE from Loblaws

Directions: Get off at Dundas West Subway station and walk south on Dundas West. In about a block, you’ll see an LCBO and Loblaws grocery store on the east side of the street. Look for the dark blue “Lake Fever” branded van in the parking lot.

12:00PM HUNTSVILLE

Lunch stop at a lakeside restaurant in Huntsville -a quiet cottage town loaded with festivals in the summer. If something exciting is happening we’ll be sure to take a peek before heading out.

3:00PM ALGONQUIN PARK

Arrival at our campsite in Algonquin Provincial Park

3:30PM

Introduction to the campsite & tent setup demo.

4:15PM HIKE

Short hike through the area.

6:00PM FREE TIME AT CAMP

7:00PM DINNER

8:30PM CAMPFIRE (weather permitting)

Gather around the campfire to unwind with S’mores and some good company.

DAY 2

7:30-8:00AM BREAKFAST

9:00AM HIKE

This morning we hike one of the most stunningly beautiful trails in Algonquin Park. Beaver Pond Trail is a 45 minute 2.0 km loop trail that visits a huge real life beaver pond, and a spectacular lookout. The radiant greens and yellows in this serene woodland habitat are very unexpected!

Saying goodbye to our home in the woods, guests now (weather permitting) have the opportunity to paddle the glistening waters of Canoe Lake, captured in the famous paintings of Tom Thomson. If there’s time, we’ll canoe to his totem pole memorial site for a swim.

Arrival at our campsite at Killbear.

7:30PM TEAM UP

Team up with some new friends to crack open a drink and do some cooking.

9:00AM DEPARTURE

After an early morning hike, throw on your choice of classic road trip tunes for our departure from Killbear Provincial Park.

12:00PM LUNCH IN PARRY SOUND

After stocking up on groceries, we’ll enjoy our scenic lunch stop at a local craft brewery in Parry Sound.

3:30PM KILLARNEY

Arrival at Killarney Provincial Park and its 645 sq. km of wilderness.

4:30 FREE/BEACH TIME

If the weather suits us, the group will enjoy some beach or swim time in George Lake.

7:30PM DINNER (cooked by you!)

9:00 CAMPFIRE

Take one last crack at some campfire hijinx.

DAY 4

7:00-7:30AM BREAKFAST

9:30/10:00AM HIKE

We've saved the best hikes for last, as this morning we dive right in to experience Killarney’s vast wilderness, with a choice of hikes ranging from mountainous ridges to tree-lined bogs and lakes, all to the backdrop of the La Cloche Mountains. Majority rules on this final day, so expect a ‘Choose-Your-Own-Adventure’ kind of vibe.

2-3:00PM HEAD HOME

Departure from Killarney. You'll have a few hours to wind down and catch some winks on the drive back to our drop-off point in Toronto

6:00-7:00PM

TORONTO!! Have a good cry and exchange social media accounts with your new trip friends. Awww, trip friends. See you next time!
